CBS PREZ QUIZZED ON FUTURE - ( Advertisers rule ! )

"Wherever the advertising goes, we will be there," stated Les Moonves, CBS President & CEO, Tuesday at New Yorker forum aired today on C-Span.
Acknowledging that advertising is their primary financial support for TV programming, Moonves added that CBS will focus more on Internet participation if audiences as well as advertisers increasingly move to the Web for news and shows, as they are today.

HOW TO SAVE A STEP WHEN BAKING LASAGNA !!

You don't have to precook lasagna noodles before baking your recipe despite most of directions you may read.
I proved it today, after following a notation rarely found.
It was in the Moosewood Cookbook, saying you can add cooked, OR uncooked lasagna noodles, with the notation, "It DOES work".
Yes, and indeed it does. I baked Lasagna today with dry noodles.
It works perfectly, saving a step in the process!

RAIN !!! - Scrambling For Scrabble

Two different reactions to the rain today - one from locals, celebrating drought relief - the other from confined campers looking for scrabble games for something to do.
A local came to the rescue, offering to loan a game, an offer quickly accepted by one camper with the comment, 'We're so bored, we're going out of our minds!'
How anyone in this day and age can be bored is beyond me.
Now I love the game of Scrabble, too; but everyone can think of something to do, if they'll simply set their minds to it - with or without a scrabble game!

 PERSPECTIVE IGNORED BY MEDIA

There were 3690 U.S. traffic fatalities EACH year - on average - over the six year period from 1998 to 2003.
That is more than the total of 3400 U.S. military fatalities in Iraq since the conflict began.
We mourn the loss of each and everyone who sacrificed life in a fight for freedom.
It is sad, too, that so many die in traffic accidents.
Media, however, seldom if ever, present the numbers as shown above, giving readers and viewers a perspective.
